Please visit our Join and Contact pages for more information.
The Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through education. Membership in the DAR provides many opportunities to cherish the freedoms we enjoy as Americans, to preserve family and local histories, to promote the celebration of our national holidays, to live patriotically, to support our national defense, and to form friendships with others who share our love of God, Home, and Country. Promoting the ideals of patriotism is as relevant today as it was in the year 1776. Our members believe in trying to make America a better place in which to live.
We are honored that you are interested in the DAR, and in the Captain Peter Ankeny Chapter in particular. We actively seek new members as well as opportunities to promote DAR objectives in our community.
The chapter was named for Captain Peter Ankeny, a Revolutionary figure, and an ancestor of our founding regent, Virginia Taylor Zink. Captain Peter Ankeny served in the 5th Company of the 3rd Battalion, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, Militia.
We meet at 10:00am on second Wednesday, in the months of September, November, December, January, March, and April. In October, February, and June, our chapter meetings are held on the second Saturday of the month at 10:00 am. There are no meetings in May, July, or August.
