Join Our Chapter

Our chapter members warmly welcome guests and prospective members to our meetings. If you believe you might have a patriot, or you have located a patriot in your family tree, we can help you to complete your research and submit your membership application. Please email Gail Barbre  or you may use our contact form.  Eligibility requirements  and a free look up service for all known patriots is available on the NSDAR website.

Membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) honors and preserves the legacy of your patriot ancestor. Over two hundred years ago, American patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. As a member of DAR, through participation in the Society’s various programs and activities, you can continue this legacy by actively supporting historic preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavor.

DAR Members are professionals, historians, genealogists, homemakers, educators, and students, who take an active role in their communities promoting our objectives of patriotism, education, and historic preservation. With almost 3,000 chapters throughout the world, and with over 170,000 members, we are one of the largest women's organizations in the world.

Any woman is eligible for membership who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death.

Admission to membership in the NSDAR is by invitation through a chapter in your area. No chapter may discriminate against an applicant on the basis of race or creed.

There are several sources of research available through the DAR. The first resource is the DAR Patriot Index on the NSDAR web site, and there are useful forms available on the NSDAR "Become a Member" page. This index contains names of Revolutionary patriots, both men and women, whose service (between 1775 and 1783) has been established by the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution. Additional information available may include: dates and places of birth and death, name(s) of wife (wives) or husband(s), rank, type of service, and the state where the patriot lived or served. Please remember that not every patriot is included in this list, only those submitted by members. If you do not find your patriot on the list, do not be discouraged. We love helping locate lost patriots!
